Our Standards: How a product earns a spot in Fluffy Garden

The promise

We carry around 50 products at a time — never hundreds. Every item has to earn its spot, and any product that stops earning it gets cut. This page is how we decide.

Step 1 — Material check

Before a product even gets considered, we screen the materials. We reject anything with mystery fillings, BPA in food-contact items, lead-painted hardware, small-parts hazards on chew toys, rawhide, or dyed rope toys without certification. If a supplier can't tell us what's in it, it doesn't go on the shelf.

Step 2 — Supplier vetting

We only stock products from suppliers who can show consistent QC, share their material specs without us pulling teeth, and stand behind a real return or replacement policy. If a supplier ghosts us when we ask hard questions, that's a no.

Step 3 — Real-world fit

Where we can, we use the product on our own pets first. Where we can't (large equipment, breed-specific gear), we lean on supplier specs and customer feedback we trust. We are upfront about which is which — and we'd rather say "we haven't tried it personally" than pretend we have.

Step 4 — Honest pricing

We don't 4× supplier cost. We charge what's fair to keep the lights on and keep doing this. If you find the same item cheaper somewhere reputable, tell us — we'll match it or explain the gap.

What we don't do

  • We don't use fake reviews. If you see a review here, it's from a real customer.
  • We don't fake scarcity timers or "only 2 left" pressure.
  • We don't claim a product is "vet-approved" unless a vet actually approved it.
  • We don't say "tested" when we mean "we read the spec sheet." We say "vetted."
